In late February, we initiated collaboration with a prominent Polish web portal seeking to maximize its revenue streams. Dissatisfied with previous ad suppliers employing traditional methods, the publisher sought our expertise in automated ad implementation powered by machine learning. Addressing Core Web Vitals

Recognizing the critical role of website quality in ad revenue optimization, we ensure that our solutions are compliant with technical requirements that apply across the entire ad industry and are required by market giants like Google. Metrics indicating websites’ optimal functioning are called Core Web Vitals. These indicators, endorsed by Google, encompass loading speed, interactivity, and visual stability and are crucial factors for search engine rankings and User Experience. Among the CWV metrics, we find:

  • INP – Interaction to Next Paint
    it shows the average duration of each event on the publisher’s website (such as taps or clicks) leading to the next screen update. This time should be less than 200 milliseconds;
  • CLS – Cumulative Layout Shift
    it informs how often layout shifts occur on the publisher’s website (changes in the position of elements visible on the page, affecting the arrangement of content in their area). The optimal CLS score should not exceed 0.1;
  • LCP – Largest Contentful Paint
    the parameter indicates how quickly the publisher’s website loads. Its value should be as low as possible, and certainly not exceeding 2.5 seconds.

Our first step in maximizing the publisher’s ad revenue involved integrating the optAd360 AI Engine technology. It analyzed the website’s structure and created the ad layout tailored to the content’s individual traits, considering its type, user engagement, and regional advertising preferences.

Outcomes and benefits

The introduction of our solutions led to a significant improvement in all three Core Web Vitals parameters right from the first day. We took over the website’s monetization on the night between February 29th and March 1st – this date is visible on the chart below, marking an instant improvement in all the CWV metrics. The most prominent optimization results can be observed in the case of INP (reaching values unacceptable by Google with the previous ad provider), which we averagely improved by almost 50%.
